Capturing Paris with Huawei

After a whirlwind couple of days in Paris, I am thrilled to be sharing with you, the brand new Huawei phones!

Huawei have just launched two new phones, the Huawei P30 and the Huawei P30 Pro. We were lucky enough to attend the Keynote talk in Paris, and were one of the first to get our hands on the brand new P30 Pro. We spent the past few days really getting to know the phone, especially playing with all the fancy parts on the camera. Why? Huawei has really blown it out of the park with this phone, the camera is one of the best features on the phone, with a 40 megapixel Leica camera. Yes, 40MP! And. I. Am. Obsessed. There’s so much to be excited over, so I’ll try and break it down below.

The Colours:

The phone come in five colours, Breathing Crystal, Amber Sunrise, Pearl White, Black, and Aurora. We managed to snag the beautiful Breathing Crystal (my personal fave), and Aurora which are only available in Australia, You can check out both below.

Some of the amazing P30 Pro Camera features include:

Night Mode – This is pretty much the best way to take night photos for beginners. Combining long exposure with AI, the phone takes several snapshots and stitches them together to create an amazingly sharp and clear night photo. It’s perfect for those who are quite clueless with night photography, but want to still be able to get ‘the shot’. The detail with this mode is incredible.

Pro Mode – This mode basically  functions as a manual camera! With everything from ISO to shutter speed, you can tweak these settings, just like you would on a manual camera to set up your shot. The quality is phenomenal, I took some night photos with it, which you can check out below!

Normal Mode (wide feature and zoom) – Firstly, the normal mode on this phone can take a pretty perfect picture, but there’s so much to play with on this setting alone. You can enter wide mode in both photo and video to capture images like never before on a phone! No annoying attachments or lenses required! It’s one of my favourite features. Additionally, the phone has an up to x 50 zoom. It’s nuts. It was one of the first things I tried out on the phone and really has to be tried and tested! It can capture images way beyond human vision, and so sharp too!

HiVision – Harnessing the power of AI, with this mode you can identify objects. For example, if you want to check out the name of a famous building or painting, it can identify it for you, and also scan QR codes and barcodes. You can also shop items by taking a photo, translate different languages, and even find out the calories of food sitting in front of you, just by taking a photo!

in ‘More’ – There’s heaps of other crazy settings to play with here such as ‘moving picture’, ‘underwater’, ‘light painting’ etc. In light painting you can capture traffic trails, light graffiti, silky water, and even star trails! We’ve yet to test out these settings, but can’t wait to have a play. It’s truly endless with this phone.

There is also ‘aperture mode’ and ‘portrait mode’ for food photography experts and selfie lovers – aka me!

As you can tell, I’m pretty impressed with the phone and am so excited to see what else it’s capable of. I know I’ve only scratched the surface, so if you want to find out more head over to Huawei for details.
