Rolling on the Rhine with U by Uniworld

Back in April we spent a week on the Rhine River with U by Uniworld. For those of you who don’t know about U by Uniworld, it’s a river cruise experience for mostly under 30s. We spent seven nights on board, and you can spend it however you like. You can either spend your days relaxing on the top deck with drinks and friends, or choose to go out everyday on the U Times and free activities they have available. Or both! A U Time is a group excursion activity with an extra fee. Some of the U Times during our trip included visiting Keukenhoff Gardens in Haarlem, to cheese making classes, and even a giant swing experience above Amsterdam. There was a whole range of fun activities offered during our time on and off board. If you prefer to explore alone that’s also an option while the ship is docked, as it was docked for most of the day time and sailed during the nights. We spent some of our days just walking around the towns in the early morning just as the ship had docked, and then joined the groups for the afternoon activities. I really loved waking up each morning to find a new view outside our window!

It was my second river cruise ever & such a fun way to see Germany and The Netherlands. We boarded in Frankfurt and along the way we visited Koblenz, Cologne, Bonn, Dusseldorf & Haarlem, before disembarking in Amsterdam.

Below is a peek of what the interior of the ship looks like, for those who are curious! Every night we were treated to super hearty meals, I could barely ever finish what was served. They also left a one million note on arrival, which was the sweetest touch. I can’t wait for our next river cruise because I think it’s such a unique and fun way to travel.
